Product of the week: precious pomegranates
Hello, I am Jan Bernard and I grow organic exotic fruits such as pomegranate, maracuja, and granadilla for Nature & More in the tropical highlands in Peru. We are an association of individual landowners who have organized themselves to pool their resources in order to afford technical assistance and gain access to the export market. Today, more than 1000 families participate in the organization and apart from the cultivated land, we take care of about 50,000 hectares of endangered Amazon rainforest. The beautiful fruit does not only look wonderful, but it is also packed with nutrients! Pomegranates are rich in vitamine C, K and antioxidants. All in all, excellent for good health.
Jan: "I think it is important that consumers realise that they can have an effect on world affairs. Globalization enables people in other parts of the world to share the wealth and live in dignity."
Natural Branding can be done with pomegranates in order to eliminate single used plastics and packaging materials.
As wonderful as this fruit is, it can be a hassle to separate the seeds from the skin. In the column to the right, you'll see simple instructions on how to peel a pomegranate.
